Enabling Our Welfare System to Support Self-Employment

Self-employment is one of the most effective pathways to financial independence but the current welfare system prevents women from achieving this goal.

In 2023, Global Sisters received funding that will allow them to hire a policy advisor to support their inside track advocacy. This advocacy work is aimed at welfare policy reform, in order to create a system that enables self-employment as a means of sustaining long-term economic security for women.
