We are deeply saddened by the horrific mass shooting at Bondi Beach, and we grieve with our Jewish community for the lives taken and irrevocably changed by this antisemitic attack. No group of people should ever be targeted for their identity or faith, and we all become less safe when this happens.

As an organisation focused on the collective character of our nation, our hope is that Australia will meet this moment of terror with a renewed resolve to protect and care for each other; in moments of crisis like this, and in the everyday work of participating in our communities.

Just as people from all walks of life rushed to the aid of the victims, may we all rededicate ourselves to living alongside each other in the spirit of understanding and cooperation, choosing unity and service over division and violence.
